For Sale: 1988 BMW 5 Series in Newtown, Connecticut for sale in Newtown, CT

Vehicle Description 1988 BMW 535 iS The 535 iS was in essence the first M car to be introduced into the US.
Instead of importing the M535i, they produced the 535iS, which was armed with the M30B34, 182 HP, fuel injected 6 cylinder; 5 speed manual gearbox; sport interior, sport suspension and front air dam and rear spoiler.
That same year though, they did introduce the M5.
This car has been owned by the same family for the last 8
years and was well cared for as a regular driver.
It was purchased from who they believe to be the second, long term owner, who had the car for roughly 20 years.
The engine, with 247K miles, still starts easily and runs strong, the engine bay being relatively dry with no major leaks.
The interior has red sport seats over black carpet, and door cards.
The seats are leather and 10 way power, that work in all directions.
There is an installed replacement dash pad.
Other interior amenities include power steering, power-anti-lock brakes (4 wheel disc), AC (will need a recharge), tilt wheel, cruise control, Pioneer 8 speaker stereo, power windows and power sunroof (currently not working).
It is missing two of the ac/heat vent faces.
The sport suspension consists of independent A-arms and struts up front and trailing arm independent in the back, both stiffened by anti-sway bars.
It is also believed that the Alpine white paint is original.
The car is rot free and only has some minor surface rust on the undercarriage and under hood and one small spot near the left rear window.
The car drives well and is a blast to take through the corners.
The ABS light is on but the ABS appeared to be working on several hard stops.
The owner is selling due to family matters.
Although a bit high mileage, the other good bits make this car a great buy for a weekend corner carver.
Current asking price is $13,000 Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see in person or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thanks for the interest.
