Catalyx is seeking energetic and motivated employees thatare interested in joining a fast-paced industrial automationengineering services & delivery team to deliver high-techautomated solutions within the logistics industry. If you enjoyhigh-tech electro-mechanical hands-on work, solving problems andfinishing something you have started, then you may find thisposition very gratifying! As a Catalyx Systems Delivery Engineer , you will be anintegral member of a dedicated team of skilled field service,systems automation engineers & engineering technical leadscollectively responsible for end-to-end design, pre-assembly, build,installation, configuration, testing and turnkey delivery ofcutting-edge image-based package tracking solutions at many of thelargest automated e-commerce fulfillment and distribution facilitiesaround the country. You will spend roughly 50% of your time working closely withyour team performing electro-mechanical equipment componentpre-assembly, staging & factory acceptance testinglocally at Catalyx's manufacturing & testing facility and50% of your time travelling with teams to various customerdistribution/fulfillment facilities around the country toperform the final turnkey system installation, set-up and testing. Any necessary training and guidance will be provided by thevarious Catalyx technical subject matter experts and engineeringtechnical leads on your team. As a high performing Catalyx systemsdelivery engineer, you will have opportunities to progress intovarious technical project engineering & lead roles if you desire. Responsibilities and Duties:
The candidate will be primarily responsible for theinstallation, commissioning and final handover of automation systemsand solutions to customers. The candidate will independently performa full range of standard work and apply problem-solving skills inorder to deal with most situations. This role can have a high degreeof customer interface, and is expected to provide a high level ofcustomer service and satisfaction. Typical industry applications include:
-Parcel and pallet conveyors -In-motion scales -Scanners and sensors -PLC controls software Tasks Include:
-Plan and perform on-site installation, startup, testing, andtroubleshooting of materials, components, and systems of complex design; -Review and approve the operational quality of automationequipment and systems, and instruct customers in the operation andmaintenance of the system which was installed; -Serve as the company's first point of contact for thecustomer on site technical matters for assigned projects; -Develop, as required, appropriate on-sitemodifications/optimizations to electrical, optical and/or mechanicalsystems to deliver satisfactory solution performance, while remainingwithin the initially designed solution specifications and engineering drawings; -Provide timely, detailed, and accurate reports on service workperformed, product performance, and qualification test results; -Demonstrate safety consciousness in equipment handling,electrical and electronic procedures, and the unique situationsencountered at diverse work sites; -Analyze existing development or manufacturing procedures andsuggest improvement; -Create mechatronic design documents for parts, assemblies, orfinished products; -Implement and test design solutions; -Maintain technical project files; -Provide consultation or training on topics such as mechatronicsor automated control. Requirements Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields. Completionof equivalent technical training courses and professionalcertification and/or previous work experience will also be considered; - Availability to work evening and weekend hours or varying workpatterns depending on project/market needs; - Ability to be on-call and respond to customer emergenciesduring site deployments.
